Interdisciplinary Studio Art
Bachelor of Fine Arts
As a student in Youngstown State University’s Interdisciplinary Studio Art program, you will discover a broad curricular approach to studio art that can lead you to develop life-long intellectual curiosity, creativity and adaptability.
This program is suited to the student who has interest in more than one kind of media, or interest in combining media. The options range from painting to ceramics, to printmaking, photography, sculpture, drawing or digital media. While courses are taken in most disciplines at the breadth level, Interdisciplinary Studio Art students also must take at least seven elective upper division courses.
The interdisciplinary area of study allows you to create your own educational journey of artistic diversity. You will develop knowledge and hone your approach to art making through a rigorous multi-media curriculum that is relevant to contemporary studio practice.
All Interdisciplinary Studio Art majors must pass the Foundation Portfolio review to enroll in breadth and upper division courses.
